Nouakchott-Nouadhibou 225/90 kV HV Transmission Line and Associated Substations Project, Mauritania

Project Description: This project is a national backbone power grid upgrade project for Mauritania, implemented by SOMELEC. China International Engineering Corporation undertakes the construction of this project under the EPC model. The project builds and expands multiple 225/90kV substations such as NKT, CHAMI, BOULENOUAR, and NDB, and also builds 225kV transmission lines to achieve grid interconnection between the capital Nouakchott and the economic center Nouadhibou, significantly enhancing power supply capacity and reliability. The project has been completed and put into operation.

Project Significance:

International Relations: Implementing the "Belt and Road Initiative", creating a landmark EPC project in the power sector for Chinese enterprises in Mauritania, showcasing China's power technology and engineering capabilities, driving local employment and technology transfer, and contributing to the capacity building of the power industry.
